Derek Stangeland is an experienced Pre-Litigation Associate Attorney at Levine Law, LLC who brings a comprehensive understanding of the personal injury field to his advocacy. Throughout his career, Derek has hands-on experience managing personal injury cases, moving cases from initial consultation to final resolution both in pre-litigation and litigation phases. He specializes in building strong foundations for cases by evaluating complex matters for intake, developing effective management strategies, and negotiating settlements with insurance adjusters and defense counsel.
Prior to joining Levine Law, LLC, Derek served both as a high-stakes Litigation Associate Attorney and as a Pre-Litigation Associate Attorney at various firms. His professional background is defined by high-level strategic advocacy, including drafting and filing complex complaints, various contested motions, and oppositions to summary judgment. He has a high-level experience in the discovery process, having conducted and defended numerous depositions involving parties, witnesses, police officers, corporate personnel, and medical personnel. He regularly represents clients in mediation proceedings and various court hearings.
Derek earned his Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School, where he graduated in the top 8% of his class and earned a certification in Criminal Law. His academic record is distinguished by CALI Awards for achieving the highest grade in various courses. He was also honored with the Whittier Law Review Best Junior Staff Editor Award and was a consistent presence on the Dean’s List. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Seattle University and holds a license to practice law both in Colorado and California.
In his free time, Derek is an avid gym-goer who enjoys rock climbing, hiking, playing sports, and spending time with his family.
